Submissions Guidance
Brief
We are inviting submissions from emerging and unrepresented artists living and working in South Africa. This will be the ideal opportunity for emerging artists to be paid to exhibit their work as part of a dynamic art collection in the heart of London, whilst building a long-term relationship with Ninety One.
We are looking for 2D (painting, drawing, photography etc.) and sculptural works in a range of sizes and styles. We are particularly interested in works that relate to the following themes:
-
Bold, resilient and agile - the core values of Ninety One
-
The year 1991 from a global perspective - the year the company was founded
-
Sustainability – the impact of climate change across the globe
-
Natural world
-
Community
-
South African culture
Deadline
Monday 1st March 2021, midnight GMT
How to Submit
Please submit up to 5 examples of your work and an artist statement of up to 1500 characters via our submission form on our Submit page. The submitted artworks should be suitable for display in an office environment and should relate to the brief. There is no submission fee.
Images should be good quality JPEG files at 300dpi. Images should be of the artwork itself, cropped or on a white background. Please do not include installation photos, unless necessary to give an idea of dimensions e.g. for sculptural pieces. Please include artwork close-ups only when necessary e.g. to showcase a particular texture, material used or a three-dimensional effect.
An art panel consisting of Ninety One and ARTIQ team members will select the artists and artworks. The selected artists and artworks will be announced in Spring 2021.
All successful artists will be notified by email. Unfortunately due to the anticipated volume of submissions we will not be able to contact those who are unsuccessful or to provide feedback.
For all submissions queries, please use the contact information below and include "Ninety One Submission" in the subject line of your email.
